merlin:

Most great artists define a new and unique region of hell.

Rock music just got its very own first-line-from-Anna-Karenina.

It’s my favorite sentence in Scott Miller’s1 wonderful little book, Music: What Happened? (which book I devoured cover to virtual cover on Saturday night).

And, in case you’ve never heard the swell Posies tune of which Scott speaks…

Scott’s the talented local boy behind the awesome The Loud Family. But, to me, he’ll always be the guy behind the slightly-lesser-known band I fell so hard for in 1985: Game Theory (cf. “24”). ↩

Great book - I had to buy a whole lot from 2005-2009, thanks to the last 5 chapters. (Fav Game Theory album will always be _Big Shot Chronicles_. If you’re 15 when that laser beam hits you…. man.)
